PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS ALONG OLD PLANK ROADThis project sought to improve the pedestrian connectivity between downtown, residential areas, parks, and businesses around the intersection of SR 135 and Old Plank Road by adding sidewalks and multi-use paths. This addressed safety concerns for pedestrians and motorists along these roadways and secondarily address drainage issues. Old Plank Road, with its fully rebuilt street, improved sidewalks, HAWK traffic signal, and stormwater infrastructure, completed construction on August 28, 2020. Please read our project update newsletter to learn more about the HAWK traffic signal at Old Plank Road and Harriman Avenue. We thank the public for their patience during this major construction project.
